Ah, Thanksgiving. My absolute favourite day of all 365. This holiday that is centered around thanking and giving is truly something I am proud to call American. A day when we gather with our family and closest friends to share what we ourselves have spent months growing — well, that’s how it started, anyway. Still, you can’t argue with food and football (if you like that sort of thing), can you?
I imagine that many of you are traveling, perhaps just a few towns away, or maybe even over state lines (like me!), so I’ve compiled a list of Thanksgiving-feeling songs to share with you. One day I’d like to have a whole list of songs JUST about this holiday. For now, songs that feel like this holiday will do. If you like them, let them keep you company on your pilgrimage as they will keep me on mine.
Track 1: All My Days by Alexi Murdoch
Track 2: Rugg Thanksgiving by The Rugg Brothers (Rob Harmon and Ryan Marchand)
Track 3: The Fall by Peter and the Wolf
Track 4: Farmer Chords by Ben Gibbard
Track 5: If You Were by Ryan Marchand
Track 6: The Crane Wife 3 by The Decemberists
Track 7: The First Snow of the Year by Jason Anderson
Track 8: Golden Slumbers by The Beatles
Track 9: The Ragged Sea by Alexi Murdoch
Track 10: My Friends, Come Back by Ryan Marchand
Track 11: If I Were A Tree – Forest City Lovers
Track 12: Golden Brown by The Stranglers

Track 16: Night Windows by The Weakerthans
Track 17: Johnny Appleseed by Lexington and Concord

Also, if you like this list, it’s very similar (several of the songs are the same) to an Autumn mix I made last year which you can find here. ENJOY!
