Grannies and nannies will work hard to pretty up tissue boxes with their knitting tricks, but to this day I’ve still never seen a tissue box that I would actually consider home decor.

It’s still not perfect, but I do like the look of this coffee cup turned tissue box a little better just because of the unconventionality of it. So here’s how you can upcycle one of your disposable coffee cups into a tissue box:

You will need -

1. A used coffee cup with lid.

2. An exacto-knife

3. Tissues

4. Markers/paints/colours

5. Hot glue gun or puff paint

Step 1: Squirt a bit of soap into the cup and switch warm water around to clean the inside. Wash the lid as well.

Step 2: Carefully cut out the indented area above the mouthpiece.

Step 3: Glue all the way around the opening to keep the tissue from snagging (you could use puff paint, too!)

Should look something like this on the underside.

Step 4: Decorate!

Et, voila!

Now all we need is to find some tissues that are more environmentally responsible!
