May Goals!

As I work harder + harder toward my long term Etsy goal, I keep thinking back to this one thing I read in the forums or some such place a couple of years ago. There was an experienced seller offering advice for us newbies, and she said that her shop traffic + sales picked up significantly when she hit 100 listings.

One hundred listings.

At the time it seemed incredible. Ridiculous, even. 100 listings in an Etsy shop seemed almost unnecessary to me then (at the time I was probably boasting four or five listings of my own). But now as I climb ferociously toward my goal — to eventually make this my full-time job — it seems all the more attainable, + it’s encouraging for me to recall her advice.

So here’s to the possibility of 100 listings. And here are the May goals that will help me work toward them:

(Now you know that I make less than $90 a day at my day job — for some reason occupations that directly benefit mankind like teaching and caregiving get paid the least…)

And how did my goals for April work out?  – You might ask.

Pretty well! I only had two goals…

1. To post one shift’s worth of products each week (since I dropped a shift at my day job to concentrate on Etsy). And,

2. To stock everything in my shop.

Two of those April weeks didn’t see my intended amount of postings, but that was because I was working hard on a large custom order. I also picked up a couple of extra shifts at work those weeks, so at least that money wasn’t lost.

And everything is now stocked! All of my listings are completed and ready to be shipped out as soon as they are purchased! Now, we wait…

xx. Julia
