I snatched up some amazing finds yesterday while thrifting and I wasn’t even in need of retail therapy! I just went out in search of more vintage buttons, and I found a whole slew of fantastic little somethings (no clothes, though, I was faithful to my 30 for 30 challenge)!

It’s really underrated, you know, thrift and second hand shopping. I get the most amazing pieces for pennies while also foregoing the needless packaging, carbon footprints, and sweat shop labor that are products of most regular stores.

Here’s what I claimed for myself yesterday:

Three vintage Americana wire baskets, a leafy serving tray I've been dreaming about, a lovely pill box hat.

Great percolator that makes better coffee than our French Press!

Wire basket that Ryan's going to affix to the back of my bike!

I also got a bunch of buttons (Seriously, a lot. I’m addicted). All of that for around $30! And…

An antique treadle sewing machine circa 1887 -- also around $30.

So yeah, thrift store shopping is where it’s at. You’re welcome.

See you all tomorrow!

P.s. My cats are like Waldo – they pride themselves in hiding in as many of my photos as they can. I’d love to see if any of you can spot the little hider in this entry!

30 for 30 – Day 14

So, this is not my favourite look of the challenge (also, I look terrified in the photo), but it’ll do for today:

Long sleeve Free People flowy top, oversized striped cardigan, LAmade blush tunic tank (underneath), brown leggings, woolen socks, second hand boots from a clothing swap!

Usually Tuesdays are my day off — usually so are Mondays — but Ryan and I had work events and trainings both days this week, so I’m pretty ready to just relax. Thus, I’m comfy-fied today.

Hey, have you ever noticed how many excuses I make? Ha ha.

Onward to Wednesday!

xx. Julia
