They just don’t make movies like they used to.
Whenever I finish watching a classic film like this one, I just feel so good. The entertainment industry seems incredibly different in the golden age, and I can’t get enough of their romance, style, and way of life. Plus, I’ve never before realized how much I love Shirley MacLaine…she’s so darling! Maybe even my new favourite actress? I’ll definitely be renting more of her movies in the near future.
Here’s the plot line in short: selfless C. C. Baxter (Jack Lemmon) gives up his apartment nearly every night in order for his boss and the other higher ups to use it for their sexual escapades. At first it starts just as a favor, but the word spreads, and in order to compensate him his bosses start giving him raises! It seems like a good deal for Mr. Baxter until the head honcho of the company brings over the only girl that Baxter has his own eye on (Miss Shirley MacLaine), then carelessly leaves her in the dust when his wife comes back into town.
Baxter is then faced with several tough decisions and some really big responsibilities that he certainly didn’t ask for. But, I think you’ll be pleased with the outcome. Do have a look at this lovely little picture. I highly doubt you’ll be disappointed.
Have a wonderful Wednesday!
