Today I’m welcoming you into our home with open arms!
I’ve been working up to this post for a really long time, but it seems that time slips away from me, and life gets in the way, so it has taken me months to finally photograph the whole space to share. I’ll be getting to the rest of the apartment in the future, but this is the first room you’ll enter when you step through our front door. So, welcome!
Have a look around and hover your mouse over each photo for details!
So that’s it!
We have a super small space and this is the room we spend the most time in. As you can tell, it’s more than just a living room – it’s a cozy den, a dining room, a hallway to the kitchen, a space to entertain, and a library all at the same time. It’s also currently the perfect place for a cat nap, according to Atlas. I’m happy to have finally shared it with you, and I look forward to showing you the rest of our space!
See you tomorrow!
xx.

I’ve decided that the time has come to stop lurking, and leave you a comment. Hello!
Most of all, I wanted to tell you that I loooove your great big mirror, and all the pretty details in your living room. I love rooms that are full of colour and stories and yours has plenty of both.
I kind of have an urge to re-sort all of my books by colour now.
I started a house tour on my blog last month, and I’m about halfway through. It’s been pretty time-consuming to spend time on each room and photograph it, but I love having a little archive of our home at this point in time. We know that we won’t be here forever because we rent, so these photos are likely to be pretty special to me one day.
(If you would like to tour a living room from the other side of the world, this is where you can find mine – http://scarletwords.com/2011/09/29/house-tour-part-2-the-living-room/ )
I’m looking forward to seeing the rest of your tour as you put it together!
THANK YOU for the comment! I love reading each and every one
I’m a renter, too, so I know just what you mean about archiving these photos for viewing in the years to come. The funny thing about this place is that I actually wasn’t sure if it was right for us when we saw it. But, Ryan was convinced the second we stepped through the door, so I decided to give it a try thinking that we could move out at any time. Two and a half years later, we’re still here and I’m doing home tours!
I can’t wait to see your space — on my way now!
xx.
The same thing happened to us! Tim loved this house immediately, but it took me about a year before this place really felt like “home” for me. I think I needed to tackle some of the problem areas (like lack of storage space) before I could really relax and enjoy it.
It’s nice to meet another renter who isn’t content to just “camp”! I’m not happy unless my house is a home, but I do look forward to being able to put a hook in my own wall someday.
Hope you enjoyed poking around my living room too! My other room tour posts are still on my front page, if you want to see the rest
I loved your whole apartment! I want to cozy up on your couch reading a book and sipping tea — so comfy looking!
xx.
