Ah, Christmas is nearing!
We’ve made out all of our Christmas cards and polished off two cartons of eggnog {small ones, and over the course of two weeks — not as gross as it sounds}. We’ve also watched many of our favourite Christmas movie classics. This season is already shaping up to be one of the best!
Since we do handmade Christmases, we have to get started early! We also have to dedicate a lot more of our time for holiday preparations, but that makes us really happy. Ryan + I really get jazzed on the holidays. Our favourite thing is sitting down and wrapping up all of the gifts we’ve made with our own two hands, cutting cute tags, and rolling out the ribbon — it’s our jam.
This year for Christmas cards, we decided to keep it simple. I found vintage Christmas images that I liked online, then printed them out with my photo printer. I printed them small, two per photo sheet, then we cut them out and deco-taped them to the front of a halved and folded piece of nice paper.
Personalizing these cards was the fun part. We chose certain images for certain people, and picked the tape colour to match it best. I loved drawing little photo frames on the fronts of the envelopes.
We made these envelopes ourselves using paper bags! I’ll share a tutorial soon with the exact instructions, but it’s not hard at all so I’m sure you could figure it out. I kind of made Ryan do all of the envelope tracing and cutting because I was too excited about making the fancy script and such — ha!
These are the holidays so far in our house!
xx.
P.s. Here’s a fun free Christmas song from Chalk + Numbers! You never can have too many Christmas songs, can you?
