What better article to style in February than a cardigan?

It’s been awhile since the three of us have each styled one piece of clothing to share with you, but Liz, Chelsea, + I are back to show how we wore this comfy little mustard sweater! We prefaced this little photo shoot with lots of thrifting { I’ll share my finds this weekend! }, lunch together at our favourite Asian restaurant, and a surprise visit with a childhood friend of mine. Over all, the day was fantastic.

Here are our photos:

This is pretty much the ideal cardigan, I’d say. It’s a pop of colour, a comfy knit, and a very easy style to wear so the possibilities are endless! I have a similar cardigan that I wear all the time. It seems like it’s just the perfect combination of everything and it can be dressed up or dressed down according to your mood and your plans for the day.

I mixed the sweater with a lacy top, and wool trousers. The textures of each layer are a really neat mix when they’re all pulled together. Although the look is professional and classic { especially with my newly thrifted hat! }, it is still so, so, so comfortable! I could wear this to work on one of my office days! Another plus? It incorporates three of my favourite things: lockets, layers, + lace.

This is my favourite combination that we came up with in this round. The horizontal lines on her top and the vertical ones in the pleats make for a very structured aesthetic, but the way that the sweater overlaps both really pulls them together! So fun and feminine! This was the perfect look for our thrifting adventure earlier in the day — it was functional and totally adorable.

Not everyone can pull off a turban, but I think Liz nailed it with this ensemble! She brought in some more colour with her copper corduroys and in the scarf that she fashioned  atop her head. This would be a great outfit to wear on a light hike through the woods since it’s so practical, but still really fun. Don’t forget to invite me, Liz!

So that’s what we wore this past Saturday! Have you noticed that our background keeps changing? We rotate around our apartments depending on whose item it is that we’re swapping each time! Since this is Chelsea’s cardigan, we took photos in her room. Let me show you a few more photos of the space. You’ll be as in love with it as I am!

She has a great eye for design, no? It must be because she’s a photographer. She’s also an excellent thrifter! Several of these display items were purchased on our shopping trips together. I really think she may be my good luck charm because I always find the best things when we go looking together. Don’t you love her space?

By the way, how would you wear this cardigan?

xx.

In our line of work, one must dress practically.

We do a lot of on-the-hands-and-knees cleaning, pushing wheelchairs, and lugging groceries. Some days there are more office tasks, but we really never know what we’re going into at the beginning of the day, so it’s important to be ready for anything.

Before Ryan headed into work the other day, I snapped a couple of photos because I was impressed with how he managed to pull together a functional and slightly fancy ensemble for his day’s work. It’s always interesting to see a tee-shirt layered under a nice cardigan, but it’s a look that I think works really well. Tee-shirts on their own sometimes feel frumpy, but when only a tiny bit of it peeks out, the tee acts almost as an exclamation point, lending some excitement to an otherwise structured look.

Atlas, too, dressed to impress {he didn’t want to feel left out}. Here you can see his crisp white collar, a saucy striped number draping over the shoulders, and he finishes the look with his fanciest white gloves. Inspired by his Dad’s colour palette, he here embraces his tawny, grays, whites, and browns, and is ready to conquer the day!

I hope you’re all doing quite well. See you tomorrow!

xx.
