This month is an extra special giveaway with my old friend Ben!

His shop is so much fun to poke around. He’s got lots of basic tees with appliques of States, geometric shapes, or anatomy – so neat. Each image has a hidden pocket in it and he just started offering his tees fitted for ladies. I know you’ll love them.

I must admit that I feel a bit guilty. I convinced him to make a Maine shaped tee a few years ago when I was living there and still haven’t bought one for myself – doh. Perhaps he’ll come up with a New Hampshire one now that I live here again? Or maybe that’s just wishful thinking on my part.

The very generous sir has offered one lucky winner a $25 voucher for his shop! That means you can pick out whichever teeshirt you like the best and have it entirely for free. Super exciting stuff. All you have to do to enter is visit his shop then comment on this post to let me know which one you’d pick if you won. You’ve got until Wednesday night {September 26th} to make your choice! Make sure you do come back sometime next week to see if you’ve won, though. Last month my winner didn’t check in and she missed out on her prize – no fun.

Good luck to everyone who participates! May the random number generator Gods be in your favor! Oh, yes, while you’re over at Ben’s make sure you tell him I say “hi!”

Are you feelin’ lucky?

xx.

P.s. This giveaway is now closed! Check back in sometime next week to find out who won!

We’re nearing the end of the summer,

but I’m not ready to give it up just yet! Here’s a playlist for this last beautiful month or so of fresh air and full sun! It’s time to dig out that summer to-do list and make sure you’ve crossed everything off. Before long we’ll be layering sweaters and scarves and baking pumpkin pies! Yesterday at the store Ryan + I saw a huge crate of local apples…soon it begins!

Enjoy the last of our summer before it disappears!

Although I love making all sorts of themed playlists,

SUMMER is my favourite theme of all. Sometimes I start my summer playlists in December, sometimes in the preceding September, I almost always have one that I’m working on for the next warm season. Summer is for upbeat, sunny songs that can bounce out of the speakers while one drives around with the sweet air swirling in the car and all around them. A soundtrack for summer is one of the best ways to capture the magic of beaches, bare feet, and bonfires, because each little moment gets caught up in the familiar songs by the end of August and will forever be reminiscent of that time. This is the new playlist I’ve made up for this year!

Now go have fun!

xx.

P.s. This summer might be so good that it needs two playlists.

My friend Erin went to Alaska last week,

and before she left she asked me to pull together a playlist that she + her boyfriend could listen to while they drove through the State. I was immediately happy to accept the challenge since I love making themed playlists! Here’s what I came up with after a lot of dreaming of what it would feel like to drive through those gorgeous mountains and clouds and past that clean + clear water. I was definitely channeling a bit of Dick Proenneke, trying to feel what he must have felt every day – the power and the beauty of the Earth.

Safe travels!

Music is so seasonal to me.

That’s why I love to put together a new playlist for every coming season. Here’s the one I’ve pulled together for spring 2012! This has been playing in my “shop studio” {-ahem- bedroom} for about two weeks now, and it’s finally perfect enough to share with you! Any suggestions? I love finding new music since that {+ coffee} keeps me going on my slower days. Listen through the playlist and if there’s something you think would fit perfectly, leave it in a comment and it may just get added!

Enjoy your Sundays, dears!

Late Winter Sounds

There’s time for one last winter playlist before the spring comes.

I love to pull together songs according to the season. I feel that summer songs should be bright, warm, and ready for adventure, and fall should have a chill to it. Spring is light and pretty, but clearly gearing up for something. And in the winter, I like songs like these. I have a particular obsession with The Bird + The Bee every late February // early March, so you’ll find a bit of that included in my most recently completed playlist.

Please enjoy these last moments of winter, as I have a feeling it will all be coming to an end very soon. The sun is shining bright today, though our snow has not yet started to melt. It truly is the beginning of the end of winter, and I wanted to share with you what that sounds like to me.

What songs would you add to a late winter playlist?

xx.
