Nothing makes me happier than a successful thrifting haul.

I suppose that statement might be slightly exaggerated, there are some things, but the truth is that I’m almost always on top of the world when I walk out the door of a thrift shop with something in my hand…It’s the thrill of the hunt.

The letter box and kitchen scale have both found new homes in my shop. I’m now able to weigh my packages at home and label them accordingly before carrying them off to the Post Office. And although I’ve already hung this adorable organizer, I’m still not sure what function it will serve! I’m a very messy person, though, so I know I’ll find something that needs sorting soon enough.

Each item in this collection is a delight. My two little nesting pots are super adorable – matching pieces with a lid to share. They’re perfect! Now if only Ryan + I could get our food blog launched we’d have a reason to put them to good use!

Oh, yes, and the bureau – ideal, no? We found our new favourite shop ever on a recent day off thrifting trip and I’ll be sure to return again soon! The whole store was curated exactly how I’d like my home to be and I was drooling before I even set foot in the door!

What are your recent scores?

xx.

Our move-in day is next Monday!

And with less than a week left, I’m finding myself super inspired to decorate our new space! I’ve been scouring Pinterest for some ideas on how to use what we have to create a new and different look for our home and here are some of the images that have really gotten my gears turning:

I can’t wait to get settled in and share a new home tour with you! Our new apartment doesn’t have as much built-in personality {fireplaces, moulding, etc.} as the one we live in now, so I’ll be doing a lot of creative styling to try to bring it to life. But, I suppose that just makes it more challenging and more exciting!

I’ve already got a list of must-do move-in DIYs going for things like the tub caddy above and a mug tree. It may take us awhile to get to the point where we’re ready to share our space, but I couldn’t be more excited about pulling everything together. Furniture arrangement ideas fill my head and my studio space will be the first thing I focus on since my shop’s reopening is scheduled for May 10th!

So much to do, so little time!

Snapshots from our week:

| highlights |

We’ve been kitty-sitting for Ryan’s uncle all week, so we’ve spent lots of time in his beautiful bungalow. I’m so taken by the details of his home, the mid-century fixtures, the half shutters in the windows, and the wonderful little extras. Although the house has a sort of spooky vibe to it, I just love being there.

Last weekend our friends had a big birthday party at Slainte for everyone who has had a recent birthday { there are a lot of them, it seems! }. Ryan, David, + Don each played some songs for us, Liz made cupcakes, and we all danced well into the night. All of the boys wore the bow ties I made them, too — it felt so wonderful to have their support.

Is there anything as comforting as coming home, setting down your keys + such, and relaxing on the couch with a cup of tea? I think not. I looked forward to that moment all day last Sunday, and it was picture perfect when it finally arrived.

Have a great weekend, all.

xx.
