Ryan + I attended a mix cd party last night!

Each person brought a mix that they made and plopped it down with the rest on the coffee table in the center of the party. Throughout the night the cds were played and when you left you got to take one home with you! Our brilliant friend David concocted the idea and along with his two lovely roommates, Samantha + Chelsea, he hosted the lively event.

Not only did we have a blast making our mixes { can you guess which one in the picture is mine + which is Ryan’s? }, but we also got to take home two brand new cds! I can’t wait to pop them in while we drive around with the windows down in this gorgeous spring-like weather!

Have a wonderful day, friends!

xx.

If you’re not sick of me talking about the Swap yet…

I wanted to pass on a link to my tips list! I had so much fun hosting my swap, and encourage all of you to try it out on your own. It can be intimidating, but if you co-host with a friend or two, you’re certain to find success. And, taking a peek at my very thorough list of tips wouldn’t hurt either. So, stop on over at the Goodwill blog to check it out!

Also of note, my birthday is just around the corner! March 14th is going to be super special because I want to celebrate with all of you! I have a giveaway planned that will have some lucky commenters waiting patiently at their mailboxes for a package from me! Yep, that’s right — I’m going to be giving away gifts as a thank you for being my reader { because I pretty much think birthdays are the coolest things + can’t wait to share}.

Have a wonderful Saturday!

xx.

P.s. Have you ever hosted a clothing swap? Do you have advice to add to the list? I’d love to hear all about it in the comments below!

Have you joined Pinterest yet?

I love this website. It’s really brilliant. While browsing the internet, if you see a beautiful image that inspires you, you can “pin” it to your pinboards with a simple click! Organize your pinboards so the images you pin are categorized, and come back to the boards when you’re ready to utilize that inspiration.

Each image that you pin retains its link back to the original place where you found it, so you know who to credit for the source, + if you need more information it’s really quite simple to find. This website is ideal for planning parties, room redecoration, or style inspiration. I’ve got so many boards going, you’ll have to see the possibilities for yourself!

A lot of the boards I follow {oh yeah, you follow other people’s boards, too!} often pin DIY tutorials. It’s so nice to see what other people are making, + pin the instructions for myself for later use.

It’s currently invite only, but I would be happy to send you an invite if you leave your email below. I’ve started looking at my pinboards for style + hair help in the morning, ha! It helps me get more out of my day because I browse in my time off, save the images I like, then quickly pull them up in the morning when I’m limited on time!

If you decide to join, don’t forget to follow me!

- I felt a bit let down! By the time the storm made it to Maine, it had been degraded to a tropical storm (ie. nothing we can’t handle). New Englanders are serious about their storms, and this had nothin’ on a good ol’ Nor’Easter.

- I took my time walking home from work + enjoyed the gorgeous wind.

- I had my friend Marsha over for a “hurricane” party anyway. She only lives a block away, so it wasn’t a dangerous trip for her. Had I known the worst of it wouldn’t make it our way, I would have invited more people!

- I set out candles, matches, a cribbage board, cards, cookies, + the makings for tea.

- Marsha brought cupcakes decorated with blue sprinkles (rain) + an umbrella, + sparkling wine!

- We giggled like girls, and hoped that the power would go out…it never did.

- I learned that my storm center news team includes a cat.

- And that my weather man quotes honey badger (honey badger don’t care!).

- I missed being at home in the Lakes Region where family + friends went skinny dipping + swimming during the hurricane!

Hope you’re safe now if you were in the danger-zone. Just some trees down and some power outages in my area. Nothing too bad!

Enjoy the sun today!

xx. Julia
